The Nissan Versa was first introduced into the United States and Canada in July of 2006. It is unique in that it is the only four-door passenger car from the automaker that's sold worldwide.
The 2009 model year introduced some interested changes, utilizing a smaller 1.6-liter gasoline engine. The car is offered with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The 2009 model also has smaller 14 inch steel wheels. For some time, the Versa was the least expensive car sold in the United States, but a recent price cut by Hyundai on it's Accent models made it cheaper by about $20. In terms of safety, the car also features six standard air bags and a tire pressure monitoring system.
